On 8/31/2022 at 9:18 pm, Saeed Abdus-Sabuur, 30, of Newark was arrested and charged with Fugitive From Justice following a motor vehicle stop on the 400 blk of North Ave. Mr. Abdus-Sabuur was found to have an extraditable arrest warrant out of Pocono Mountain, PA. Mr. Abdus-Sabuur was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.

On 8/31/2022 at 9:06 am, patrol responded to the 600 blk of Bound Brook Rd. for the report of Criminal Mischief. The victim reported that an unknown person had smashed the back window to their parked vehicle during the overnight hours. No items of value were taken. Ptlm. Manuel Santiago investigated.

On 8/30/2022 at 6:23 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of Credit Card Fraud. The victim reported several fraudulent transactions totaling $122. Sgt. Christopher Lovell investigated.

On 8/30/2022 at 3:38 pm, Chistopher Rivero, 30, of Phillipsburg was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering With Evidence, and Shoplifting. Mr. Rivero was observed by patrol who attempted to speak with him about multiple recent incidents. Upon being contacted by patrol, Mr. Rivero removed a "crackpipe" from his pocket and proceeded to step on and destroy the item. A subsequent search revealed items which had been stolen from Family Dollar only a few minutes prior. Ptlm. Marcin Nierodzik investigated.

On 8/29/2022, Christopher Rivero, 30, of Phillipsburg was mailed a criminal complaint charging with Theft following investigation into the Theft of a tip jar at Olga's Tipico on North Ave on 8/25/2022. Ptlm. Kevin Condus investigated.

On 8/29/2022 at 6:15 pm, the Detective Bureau responded to Roscoe's Wrap It Up following social media circulation of video of an individual entering the establishment and stealing a tip jar containing approximately $35. As a result of the investigation, Christopher Rivero, 30, of Phillipsburg was mailed a criminal complaint charging him with Theft. Det. Nicholas Goldman investigated.

On 8/29/2022 at 11:59 am, patrol responded to a business on South Washington Ave. for the report of a stolen Wallet. The victim reported that three females entered the establishment and stole the victim's wallet. This case remains open. Ptlm. Joe Dudley investigated.

On 8/28/2022 at 8:03 pm, patrol responded to 30 Burgers on South Washington Ave for the reported Theft of a bicycle. The victim reported that an unknown person had stolen their unsecured bicycle. Ptlm. Michael Lowder investigated.

On 8/27/2022 at 2:36 am, Liliana Arias-Padilla, 33, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop at the Middlesex border. Additionally, she was found to have warrants out of Plainfield and Westfield totaling $700. Ms. Arias-Padilla was brought to Dunellen and Green Brook HQ's for processing and later released to a sober family member after receiving new court dates. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.

On 8/26/2022 at 9:12 pm, Tarelle Jones, 41, of Piscataway was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on the 300 blk of North Ave. Mr. Jones was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Millburn in the amount of $1,000. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later turned over to Millburn PD. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.

On 8/25/2022 at 9:40 pm, patrol responded to Tipico's Olga restaurant on the 100 blk of North Ave for the reported Theft. Staff reported that a male had entered the establishment and removed a tip jar containing approximately $60 in U.S. Currency. This case remains open. Ptlm. Kevin Condus investigated.

On 8/25/2022 at 8:55 pm, patrol received a report of Criminal Mischief. The victim reported that several hours earlier an unknown person had damaged their vehicle with paint while parked on the 300 blk of New Market Ave. Ptlm. Anthony Issler investigated.

On 8/20/2022 at 12:11 am, Jaime Gallegos-Guanopati, 29, of North Plainfield was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated after being observed by patrol conducting a DWI checkpoint on North Ave. Officers in the roadway observed indications of intoxication and numerous open alcohol containers in the vehicle. Upon directing him into the checkpoint, Mr. Gallegos-Guanopati attempted to flee by driving around officers and was stopped several blocks later by a patrol vehicle. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober party. Ptlm. Joseph Green investigated.

On 8/18/2022 at 11:52 am, patrol responded to the 400 blk of Front St. for the reported Burglary. The victim reported that sometime during the prior day, their home had been burglarized and a safe containing U.S. Currency and several firearms were stolen. This case has been forwarded to the Detective Bureau. Ptlm. Manuel Santiago investigated.

On 8/16/2022 at 4:27 pm, Cheryl Gutschmidt, 47, of Bound Brook was arrested and charged with Simple Assault after patrol responded to the 100 blk of Lincoln Ave. Ms. Gutschmidt was reported to have slapped a 15 year old female in the face without provocation. She was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later transported to the hospital for an evaluation. Ptlm. Marcin Nierodzik investigated.

On 8/15/2022 at 4:14 pm, patrol responded to Lincoln Ave for the report of a Stolen License Plate. The victim, also a victim of ongoing harassment, reported that his license plate had been stolen. Ptlm. Marcin Nierodzik investigated.

On 8/14/2022, Ronald Firth, 20, of South Plainfield was mailed a court appearance notice charging him with Harassment (2 cts) relating to an ongoing investigation in which he sent a series of harassing messages to the current partner, a resident of Lincoln Ave, of a person he was previously involved with. Det. Nicholas Goldman.

On 8/12/2022 at 9:18 pm, patrol responded to the 200 blk of North Ave for the reported Burglary to a motor vehicle. The victim reported that a wallet, phone, gift card, and several credit cards were taken. The next evening, Green Brook PD arrested an individual who was in possession of some of the missing items and they were returned to their rightful owner. This person was charged accordingly in Green Brook. Ptlm. Joseph Green investigated.

On 8/10/2022 2:44 pm, patrol responded to the 100 blk of Dunellen Ave for the reported Structure Fire. Lt. Beenders, Sgt. Lovell, Det. Goldman, and Ptlm. Nierodzik arrived to find heavy fire in the attic area of the home. Entry was forced to the adjoining residence and a sleeping resident was removed from the basement. Det. Goldman and Ptlm. Nierodzik assisted responding fire crews by operating an exterior handline to stop the fire from spreading to a nearby residence until sufficient manpower arrived. Fire crews from Dunellen, Middlesex, Green Brook and more, along with Dunellen EMS arrived to assist. Investigation was handled by Sgt. Lovell and the Middlesex County Fire Marshall's Office and at this time is not believed to be suspicious.

On 8/9/2022 at 4:17 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of Theft. The victim reported that the rear bumper to their parked motor vehicle was stolen on the 100 blk of Front St. Ptlm. Joseph Green investigated.

On 8/9/2022 at 9:55 am, patrol responded to the 400 blk of North Washington Ave for the reported Theft. The landlord of the building reported that the former tenants removed a refrigerator which did not belong to them. Ptlm. Manuel Santiago investigated.

On 8/7/2022 at 8:23 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of Criminal Mischief. The victim reported that they have been harassed by a former love interest of their current significant other and that now two tires on their vehicle had been slashed. This case was forwarded to the Detective Bureau for follow-up. Ptlm. Anthony Issler investigated.

On 8/7/2022 at 5:14 pm, patrol responded to the area of Third and Jackson for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival several individuals fled the area on foot and the vehicle was found to be stolen out of Franklin Twp. The area was searched with a tracking K-9 from the Somerset County Sheriff's Office but the individuals were not located. The vehicle was turned over to Franklin PD for processing. Ptlm. On 8/6/2022 at 3:08 am, patrol responded to Zupko's Tavern on North Ave for the reported assault. The victim reported that a former employee had come by after closing to attack another employee. Upon review of the surveillance footage, Amy Murillo, 42, of Green Brook was mailed a court appearance notice charging her with Simple Assault, False Imprisonment, Disorderly Conduct, Harassment, and Defiant Trespass. Ptlm. Anthony Issler investigated.

On 8/5/2022 at 12:13 pm, patrol responded to Kline Pl. for the report of Fraud. The victim reported that an unknown person had accessed their credit card to place an order valued at $65. Ptlm. Joe Dudley investigated.

On 8/4/2022 at 8:47 pm, Calvin Scott, 53, of Raritan was arrested and charged with Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct after patrol responded to the report of an Assault on the 200 blk of North Ave. Mr. Scott was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
