On 8/30/2021 at 11:14 am, patrol received a walk-in report of Theft. The victim reported that a license plate on her parked vehicle had been stolen. Ptlm. Joe Dudley investigated.

On 8/29/2021 at 1:19 am, Melvin Jones, 19, of Piscataway was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest and Receiving Stolen Property after patrol was called to the report of a suspicious vehicle on Kline Pl. Upon patrol's arrival, Mr. Jones unsuccessfully attempted to flee the vehicle on foot. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had recently been stolen out of Edison. Mr. Jones was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail. Ptlm. Joseph Green investigated.

On 8/26/2021 at 8:43 pm, Cesar Heras-Bernardino, 24, of Somerset was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Obstruction after patrol responded to a motor vehicle accident at New Market and Grove. Mr. Heras-Bernardino refused to identify himself to responding officers and was placed under arrest. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober friend. Ptlm. On 8/23/2021 at 11:15 am, patrol received a walk-in report of Theft of a Firearm. The victim, a Dunellen resident, reported that while on vacation a 9mm Sig Sauer pistol, several magazines, and ammunition were stolen from his residence. This case remains open. Ptlm. Brian O'Neill investigated.

On 8/20/2021 at 9:08 pm, David Molina, 29, of Middlesex was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle accident on Grove and Prospect. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober party. Ptlm. Michael Lowder investigated.

On 8/20/2021 at 2:34 pm, patrol responded to the 200 blk of Third St. for the report of Theft. The victim wished to report that someone had removed her Biden/Harris political support sign. Sgt. Christopher Lovell investigated.

On 8/19/2021 at 10:41 pm, Ptlm. Irons and Ptlm. Issler attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop of a car driving recklessly and with headlights/taillights. The vehicle attempted to evade patrol, going down a dead end street and ultimately crashing into the patrol vehicle. The driver and front passenger fled the crash on foot while a third passenger remained on scene. The initial officers were quickly assisted by Ptlm. O'Neill and Det. Goldman as well as several officers from Green Brook and Middlesex. Somerset County K9 Sgt. Snook responded and assisted in a track of the suspects. Based on the results of the track, a search warrant was applied for and granted for a residence on Grove St. The passenger that remained on scene was identified as Rahiem Morgan, 18, of Plainfield. He was found to have a no-bail warrant out of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later turned over to the Middlesex County Sheriff's Office. Based on investigation, the driver of the vehicle was identified as Romeo Diaz, 19, of Perth Amboy. A warrant was issued charging Mr. Diaz with Eluding, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Assault, Hindering Apprehension, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, and Forgery by Altering (currency.) Mr. Diaz was located by Middlesex PD the next day, brought to Dunellen HQ for processing, and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail. Based on the results of the search at the residence, a warrant was issued for Mikal Jones, Jr., 19, of Plainfield, charging him with Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine, and Possession of Hollow-Point Bullets. Mr. Jones Jr. remains at large. Identification of the second passenger that fled the scene remains under investigation. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.

On 8/18/2021 at 11:55 pm, Camila Vargas-Roque, 27, of Perth Amboy, and Aneudi Vasquez, 27, of Trenton, were both arrested and charged with Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop at Grove and New Market. Ms. Vargas-Roque was found to have warrants for her arrest out of Hamilton and Robbinsville totaling $1,150. Mr. Vasquez was found to have a no-bail warrant out of the Mercer County Sheriff's Office. Both were brought to Dunellen HQ for processing. Ms. Vargas-Roque was released after receiving new court dates. Mr. Vasquez was transported to the Middlesex County Jail to be transferred to Mercer County. Ptlm. Anthony Issler investigated.

On 8/17/2021 at 11:38 am, patrol responded to Lucky 7 Days convenience store on North Ave for the report of Shoplifting and Simple Assault. Staff reported that an unknown juvenile had entered the store and stolen an unknown amount of candy. When staff attempted to stop him from leaving he shoved them down causing injury. The juvenile was later identified as a 13 year old male of Dunellen. Staff did not want criminal charges pursued, only to have him barred from the premise. Ptlm. James Daniel investigated.

On 8/15/2021 at 2:45 am, Hector Nunez-Solis, 45, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Refusal to Provide Breath Samples following a motor vehicle stop on the 200 blk of North Ave. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing where he refused to provide proper breath samples and was later released to a sober friend. On 8/13/2021 at 11:57 pm, Florencio guatemalteca, 42, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop near the Plainfield border. Mr. Guatemalteca was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober friend. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.

On 8/13/2021 at 4:18 pm, patrol responded to Quick Chek on North Ave for the report of Shoplifting. Staff reported that an unknown black male wearing a yellow safety vest, gray shirt, blue jeans and a red doo-rag had stolen several drinks and a carton of cigarettes with a total value of $97. He was last seen fleeing West on foot. Ptlm. Kevin Condus investigated.

On 8/12/2021 at 11:40 am, patrol responded to a residence on the 700 blk of Dunellen Ave for an emergent lockout. The resident reported that she had been accidentally locked out of the residence with a small child inside. Patrol assisted by forcing entry to the home and the child was located unharmed. Sgt. Brian Robbins investigated.

On 8/12/2021 at 9:20 am, patrol responded to the 100 blk of Pearl Pl for the report of a stolen vehicle out of Woodbridge pinging to the area. The vehicle was located and secured, to be returned to the owner. Sgt. Brian Robbins investigated.

On 8/10/2021 at 7:06 pm, patrol responded to a business on the 600 blk of Bound Brook Rd. for the report of Harassment and Theft By Deception. Staff reported an unknown person placing a series of harassing phone calls and fictitious orders. The caller was identified and the victim declined to pursue charges. Ptlm. Joseph Green investigated.

On 8/9/2021 at 12:57 pm, patrol responded to Faber Elementary for the report of Criminal Mischief. Staff reported that two unknown juveniles had caused approximately $7,000 worth of damage to contracting equipment on the property. This case remains open. Ptlm. Brian O'Neill investigated.

On 8/7/2021 at 10:23 pm, patrol was dispatched to the report of a large fight with gun shots at the VFW. Due to the nature of the call, assistance was received from Piscataway, Middlesex, and Green Brook. Officers encountered the aftermath of a large fight from a group that had privately rented the VFW, but determined that no firearms had been involved. The victims were uncooperative and patrol ensured that everyone left. Ptlm. Michael Lowder investigated.

On 8/6/2021 at 2:46 am, Jose Soloman-Toj, 40, of Dunellen was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on the 300 blk of Front St. Mr. Soloman-Toj was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober party. Ptlm. Joseph Green investigated.

On 8/6/2021 at 1:05 am, Leonel Granados-Gonzalez, 46, of Middlesex was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Rd. Mr. Granados-Gonzalez was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober family member. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.

On 8/4/2021 a 17 year old (at the time of the incident) male of Plainfield was charged with Theft and Conspiracy to Commit Theft following new evidence from a stolen motor vehicle case from 6/1/2020. Det. Jonathan DeAngelo investigated.

On 8/3/2021 at 6:26 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of Simple Assault. The victim reported being attacked by a relative while at Quick Chek following an argument. Later review of the surveillance footage was inconsistent with the claims made. Ptlm. Michael Lowder investigated.

On 8/2/2021 at 12:50 am, Kajuana Thompson, 30, of Piscataway was arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension after providing officers with a fictitious name to conceal two no-bail warrants for her arrest out of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's and Sheriff's Offices. Ms. Thompson was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.
