August

On 8/31/2017 at 8:02 am, patrol received a walk-in report of fraud. A resident of Front St. reported that over the previous year they had been defrauded out of approximately $58,000. This incident has been forwarded to the Detective Bureau.

On 8/31/2017 at 7:11 pm, patrol received a walk-in report from a resident of Plainfield that her cell phone had been stolen while shopping at Family Dollar. Ptlm. James Daniel investigated.

On 8/28/2017 at 10:01 pm, patrol responded to the report of a vehicle fire on the 200 blk of Front St. Arriving units located a fully involved house fire and ensured all residents had safely evacuated. Multiple fire departments responded to assist in extinguishing the blaze. Investigation has been turned over to the Middlesex County Fire Marshall's Office.

On 8/28/2017 at 11:05 am, a resident of the 300 blk of Prospect Ave reported that their unlocked vehicle had been burglarized overnight. Ptlm. Nicholas Goldman investigated.

On 8/26/2017 at 11:48 am, Oscar Santamaria, 24, of Dunellen was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Refusal to Submit Breath Samples after officers were called to North Washington Ave for the report of a person asleep behind the wheel blocking the lane of travel. Mr. Santamaria was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober family member. Ptlm. Jonathan DeAngelo investigated.

On 8/26/2017 at 10:30 am, patrol took a report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle on the 400 blk of North Washington ave. The victim reported that sometime during the overnight hours an unknown person had accessed the victim's vehicle and rummaged through the items inside. No items of value were removed. Sgt. Christopher Beenders investigated.

On 8/26/2017 at 3:16 am, Josue Maradiaga-Perez, 26, of Maryland was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Rd by patrol on a DWI enforcement patrol. Mr. Maradiaga-Perez was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober friend. Ptlm. Nicholas Goldman investigated.

On 8/26/2017 at 12:09 am, James Halko, 42, of Dunellen was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Refusal to Submit Breath Samples following a motor vehicle stop on Second St after patrol observed Mr. Halko swerve into a parked car on Sanford Ave. Mr. Halko was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober friend. On 8/25/2017 at 10:26 pm, Jordalisa Pena, 19, of Piscataway was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Ave for speeding. Ms. Pena was found to have a warrant for her arrest out of Green Brook. She was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released after posting bail. Ptlm. Nicholas Goldman investigated.

On 8/24/2017 at 11:27 am, patrol received a report of a bicycle that had been stolen the previous day from the rear of In The Cut on the 200 blk of North Ave. Ptlm. Christopher Lovell investigated.

On 8/24/2017 at 1:30 am, Ramon Barron-Vasquez, 23, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on North Ave by patrol on a DWI enforcement detail. Mr. Barron-Sanchez was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober family member. Ptlm. Nicholas Goldman investigated.

On 8/23/2017 at 3:48 pm, Zachary Farley, 19, of Piscataway was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Criminal Conspiracy following investigation into several motor vehicle burglaries on 7/30/2017. Mr. Farley was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released with a court date. Det. Brian O'Neill investigated.

On 8/22/2017 at 5:43 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of a burglary to a motor vehicle which had occurred the previous night on the 500 blk of Fourth St. The victim reported the theft of a bag of work tools valued at $200. Ptlm. Jonathan DeAngelo investigated.

On 8/22/2017 at 7:40 am, patrol responded to the 400 blk of Third St. for the report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. The victim reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person had accessed the unlocked vehicle and removed a small amount of U.S. Currency. Ptlm. Jonathan DeAngelo investigated.

On 8/22/2017 at 6:23 am, patrol responded to the 100 blk of Front St for the report of a stolen vehicle. The victim awoke to find their Toyota Camry had been stolen overnight. On 8/23/2017 at 1:25 am, Plainfield Police located the vehicle occupied by three black males, all of whom fled the area upon police arrival. The vehicle was secured, evidence obtained, and the car was returned to its rightful owner. This incident remains under investigation by Det. Joe Dudley.

On 8/22/2017 at 1:41 am, Danisha Bass, 24, of Plainfield was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on the 200 blk of Lincoln Ave. Ms. Bass was found to have warrants out of Middlesex Boro and Piscataway totaling $1,750. She was brought to Dunellen HQ and released after receiving new court dates. Ptlm. Marcin Nierodzik investigated.

On 8/22/2017 at 1:30 am, Jahlil Garret-Thomas, 26, of North Plainfield was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on the 300 blk of North Ave. Mr. Garret-Thomas was found to have an arrest warrant out of Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and released after posting bail. Ptlm. Nicholas Goldman investigated.

On 8/19/2017 at 9:41 pm, Yulia Panella, 23, of Dunellen was arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Prescription Legend Drugs (2 counts), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia following investigation into the report of a suspicious person in the rear of a vacant residence on the 500 blk of Fourth St. Ms. Panella was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released with a court date. On 8/19/2017 at 7:33 pm, Tymirah Quarles, 18, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension following a motor vehicle stop on the 100 blk of Front St. Ms. Quarles provided officers with a fictitious name and date of birth to conceal an arrest warrant out of Plainfield. Ms. Quarles was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and released with a court date after posting bail on the Plainfield warrant. Ptlm. Nicholas Goldman investigated.

On 8/17/2017 at 5:40 pm, patrol took a walk-in report of a bicycle theft from the Dunellen Train Station. Ptlm. James Holovacko investigated.

On 8/16/2017 at 6:56 pm, patrol responded to the 300 blk of Fairview Ave for the report of damage to a vehicle. The victim reported that an unknown person had smashed the passenger window to their vehicle. Ptlm. James Daniel investigated.

On 8/16/2017 at 2:05 am, Chathuran Kariyawasam-Idipa, 28, of Piscataway was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Ave. Investigation revealed several warrants for Mr. Kariyawasam-Idipa's arrest out of South Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and released after posting bail. Ptlm. Nicholas Goldman investigated.

On 8/14/2017 at 10:38 pm, Raymond Meehan, 51, of Piscataway was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct after officers were called to Quick Chek on North Ave for an intoxicated person harassing customers. Mr. Meehan became combative and was placed under arrest. He was then transported to Somerset Medical Center due to a high level of intoxication and subsequently released with a court date. Ptlm. On 8/12/2017 at 10:25 pm, patrol responded to a burglary alarm on the 700 blk of Walnut St. Witnesses observed three black males exiting the area and running to a nearby vehicle before fleeing the area towards Piscataway. The rear door to the home had been forced open and items ransacked. This case has been forwarded to Det. Dudley for further investigation.

On 8/12/2017 at 11:09 am, patrol took a report of a stolen license plate. The victim, a resident of the 200 blk of Third St. reported that the license plate to their trailer which had been parked on the roadway was stolen. A report was taken and the license plate was entered as stolen. Ptlm. Jonathan DeAngelo investigated.

On 8/10/2017 at 3:49 pm, Walter Martinez, 19, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with (2 counts) of Theft and Possession of Marijuana Under 50g following investigation into a bicycle theft in progress. Additionally, a 17 year old juvenile was arrested and charged with Theft as well as Possession of an Imitation Firearm. A third juvenile fled and has pending theft charges out of this jurisdiction. Additionally, Mr. Martinez was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of East Brunswick. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released after receiving court dates. Ptlm. On 8/10/2017 at 12:49 pm, patrol took a Criminal Mischief report from a resident of the 300 blk of Orange St. The victim reported that an unknown person had poured soup over their vehicle and placed several rocks into the gas tank and inside of the gas cap. Ptlm. Brian Robbins investigated. 

On 8/10/2017 at 7:31 am, Donna Jones, 50, of Dunellen was arrested and charged with Arson (3rd deg) following patrol response to the 200 blk of Front St for the report of an individual setting fire to a garage. Ms. Jones was issued a court date and released to medical staff for an evaluation. Ptlm. Christopher Lovell investigated.

On 8/7/2017 at 9:20 pm, patrol responded to Quick Chek on North Ave for the report of a stolen bicycle. This incident was captured on surveillance footage and remains under investigation by the Detective Bureau. Ptlm. Marcin Nierodzik investigated.

On 8/5/2017 at 10:47 pm, Airamist Darby, 29, of Piscataway was arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension after providing officers with a false name and date of birth on a motor vehicle stop in order to conceal a suspended driver's license. Ms. Darby was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released with a court date. Ptlm. Nicholas Pepe investigated.

On 8/1/2017 at 11:38 am, Interbel Service Corporation on South Washington Ave reported the theft of four motorcycles from their property. This incident remains under investigation by the Detective Bureau. Ptlm. Christopher Lovell investigated.
