On 1/31/2019 at 2:52 pm, Tyler Straub, 22, of Dunellen was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault and Criminal Sexual Contact following investigation into an incident reported on 1/25/2019. Mr. Straub was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail. Det. Brian O'Neill investigated.

On 1/31/2019 at 2:34 pm, Arnoldo Veliz-Chamale, 61, of Dunellen was arrested and charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Victim Under 13, Sexual Assault of a Victim Under 13, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child for an incident reported on 1/25/2019. Mr. Veliz-Chamale was previously charged by this agency for similar acts with a different victim but had been released by the court under Bail Reform. He was again arrested, processed, and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail. Det. Brian O'Neill investigated.

On 1/29/2019 at 1:19 am, Maria Esperanza-Velasco, 40, of Dunellen was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Ave. She was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober friend. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.

On 1/28/2019, Gary Harmon II, 40, of Piscataway was issued a criminal complaint charging him with Cruelty to Animals following investigation into an incident on 1/10/2019 in which a dog was abandoned in a crate on Second St. He was issued a court appearance notice. Ptlm. Jonathan DeAngelo investigated.

On 1/26/2019 at 4:18 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of Theft. A representative of a church on Bound Brook Rd reported the theft of two flower planting urns valued at approximately $20. Ptlm. Matthew Rosofsky investigated.

On 1/26/2019 at 3:02 pm, Santiago Serrano-Medina, 22, of Plainfield, and Anthony Nolasco, 21, of Piscataway were both arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana Under 50g following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Ave for speeding. Additionally, Mr. Nolasco was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both were brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released with a court date. Ptlm. On 1/26/2019 at 1:02 am, Gordon Moffett, 24, of Piscataway was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Ave in which he was a passenger not wearing a seatbelt. Mr. Moffett was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Piscataway for $750. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released with a new court date. Ptlm. On 1/24/2019 at 10:40 am, Matthew Williams, 27, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with Shoplifting after police were called to Quick Chek on North Ave for the report of a shoplifting in progress. In addition to the stolen chocolate milk, Mr. Williams was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Piscataway in the amount of $750. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released with new court dates. Ptlm. Kevin Condus investigated.

On 1/22/2019 at 1:22 pm, Lt. Todd, Det. Sofield, and Det. Vereb, all of Edison PD, observed smoke coming from a residence on the 400 blk of North Washington. The officers entered the home and assisted in the removal of a resident and dog. Dunellen PD and Fire Dept responded along with several mutual aid fire departments. Through the efforts of all involved, no lives were lost and the fire damage was contained to the attic. Ptlm. Matthew Rosofsky investigated.

On 1/21/2019 at 12:33 am, Benito Aviles-Soriano, 33, of Dunellen was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Grove St. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober family member. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.

On 1/18/2019 at 11:21 pm, Cody Pitcher, 21, of Piscataway was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. Patrol was originally called to the scene of a hit and run accident on the 400 blk of North Ave in which a vehicle struck a residence. Conveniently, the fleeing vehicle left behind the front bumper and license plate. Mr. Pitcher was subsequently located in the vehicle in his driveway and arrested for DWI. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober family member. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.

On 1/17/2019 at 10:20 am, Vincent Felicien, 58, of Plainfield was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on Walnut St. Mr. Felicien was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Raritan Twp. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and released after posting bail. Ptlm. Nicholas Goldman investigated.

On 1/17/2019 at 1:12 am, Michelle Aaron, 24, of Dunellen was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana Over 50g and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute following a motor vehicle stop on Madison Ave. Ms. Aaron was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released with a court date. On 1/15/2019, Aldo Chavez, 35, of Dunellen was charged with Failure to Verify Address pursuant to a court order. A warrant was issued for his arrest. Det. Joe Dudley investigated.

On 1/14/2019 at 10:51 pm, Julian Musa, 24, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension, Obstructing the Administration of Law, Possession of Marijuana Under 50g, and False Reports Which Incriminate Another after patrol was called to Eight on the Break on North Ave for the report of a suspicious person attempting to solicit drugs. Mr. Musa initially provided patrol with a false identifying information. During the course of the investigation, Mr. Musa fled on foot and was pursued for several blocks before being apprehended. Upon being identified, it was learned that he had warrants out of Dunellen, Plainfield, and Shrewsbury totaling $5,289. Additionally, he had a no-bail warrant issued by the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. Mr. Musa was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later remanded to the Middlesex County Jail on the above charges. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.

On 1/11/2019 at 11:47 pm, Arnulfo Alguera-Navarro, 48, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on North Ave. Mr. Alguera-Navarro was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober family member. On 1/11/2019 at 6:43 pm, John Lepore, 56, of Dunellen was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Lincoln Ave after patrol was called to the report of a reckless driver. Mr. Lepore was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober family member. Ptlm. Matthew Rosofsky investigated.

On 1/10/2019 at 10:04 pm, Alex Pelaez-Vasquez, 29, of Plainfield was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on North Ave. Mr. Pelaez-Vasquez was found to have a no-bail warrant out of Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later turned over to Plainfield PD on their warrant. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.

On 1/10/2019 at 4:13 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of Debit Card Fraud. The victim reported receiving several fraudulent charges on her account totaling $52.85. Ptlm. Kevin Condus investigated.

On 1/8/2019 at 8:06 am, patrol responded to the 700 blk of Third St. for the report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The victim reported that an unknown person had accessed her unlocked vehicle the night prior and stolen a bag, wallet, and all of the contents. Ptlm. James Daniel investigated.

On 1/8/2019. Jonathan Rivero, 29, of Dunellen was charged with Shoplifting following investigation into an incident on 12/11/2018 in which he was captured on surveillance video stealing $131.50 worth of shampoo from Family Dollar. He was mailed a court appearance notice. Ptlm. Brian Robbins investigated.

On 1/4/2019 at 9:36 am, patrol responded to Morecraft Park for the report of Criminal Mischief. An unknown person had caused damage to the library book box located at the park. Ptlm. Jonathan DeAngelo investigated.

On 1/2/2019 at 1:33 pm, patrol responded to Zupko's Tavern on North Ave for the report of Harassment. Ptlm. Matthew Rosofsky investigated.

On 1/1/2019 at 9:12 pm, Michael Kromphold, 52, of Dunellen was arrested for Contempt of Court after being observed by patrol and known to have a no-bail warrant for his arrest out of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later turned over to the Middlesex County Sheriff's Office. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.

On 1/1/2019 at 8:46 pm, patrol responded to the 400 blk of Prospect Ave for the report of an Assault. The victim was treated by the Dunellen Rescue Squad and all involved were explained the process for signing criminal complaints. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.
