On 1/20/2020 at 1:14 am, Qiana Harriatt, 28, of Plainfield was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on North Ave. Ms. Harriatt was found to have warrants for her arrest out of Dunellen and Fanwood totaling $884. She was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released with new court dates. Ptlm. Joseph Green investigated.

On 1/19/2020, Dominic Volpe, 42, of Raritan was charged with Theft of Movable Property, Forgery, and False Impersonation. This is a continuation of a previous case reported on 12/26/2019 as the victim has identified another fraudulent check previously unreported. Mr. Volpe was mailed a court appearance notice. Ptlm. On 1/19/2020 at 8:19 pm, Lenny Tran, 47, of Edison was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Refusal to Submit Breath Samples following police response to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of South Washington Ave and Walnut. Mr. Tran was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing where he refused to provide breath samples. He was later released to a sober family member. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.

On 1/19/2020 at 5:21 pm, a female was observed posting a large sign with obscenities directed towards the police department on a telephone pole outside of HQ. Investigation revealed her to be Helen Norton-Young, 26, of Dunellen. The sign was promptly removed by patrol and Ms. Norton-Young was mailed a borough ordinance for Improper Sign Posting. Ptlm. On 1/18/2020 at 11:04 am, Erik Garcia-Monterroso, 46, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension following a motor vehicle stop on North Ave in which he provided officers with a fictitious name. Mr. Garcia-Monterroso was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released with a court appearance date. Ptlm. Patrick Barry investigated.

On 1/17/2020 at 4:18 pm, Michael Woodall, 31, of Piscataway was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana Under 50g following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Ave. Mr. Woodall was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released with a court appearance date. On 1/17/2020 at 2:17 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of Credit Card Fraud. The victim reported that an unknown person had opened a credit card in their name and fraudulently charged $300. Ptlm. Patrick Barry investigated.

On 1/17/2020 at 9:55 am, Iziah Morgan, 27, of Piscataway was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on West Fourth St. Mr. Morgan was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and released after receiving a new court date. Ptlm. Kevin Condus investigated.

On 1/17/2020 at 1:43 am, Galo Lema, 41, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to Submit Breath Samples, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest following a motor vehicle stop for several violations. Mr. Lema physically resisted officers attempting to arrest him and was eventually brought to Dunellen HQ for processing where he refused to provide breath samples. Mr. Leme was turned over to a sober friend. Ptlm. Matthew Rosofsky investigated.

On 1/16/2020 at 9:09 am, patrol received a walk-in report of Criminal Mischief. The victim reported damage to a vehicle they had parked on the 500 blk of Bound Brook Rd. Upon returning in the morning there were several scratches and the passenger side window was shattered. Ptlm. Michael Lowder investigated.

On 1/16/2020 at 12:24 am, patrol responded to the 500 blk of North Ave for the report of a Burglary and Theft. The victim reported that an unknown person(s) had kicked open their apartment door and removed several computers and electronic equipment valued at $880. This case was forwarded to the detective bureau. Ptlm. Marcin Nierodzik investigated.

On 1/14/2020 at 8:12 pm, Justin Hansen, 18, of Dunellen was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on North Ave. Mr. Hansen was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Plainfield. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and released after posting bail. Ptlm. Patrick Barry investigated.

On 1/14/2020 at 9:57 am, patrol received a walk-in report of Burglary to a Motor Vehicle and Theft. The victim reported that on the afternoon of 1/12/2020 she had parked her vehicle, unlocked, on the 200 blk of Front St. Upon returning she observed that a purse containing $100, a gold bracelet, and several vital documents had been removed from the vehicle. Sgt. John Doherty investigated.

On 1/13/2020 at 8:45 am, patrol responded to Columbia Park for the report of Criminal Mischief. The victim reported that sometime over the weekend an unknown person had damaged construction equipment and carved several racially motivated messages into the paint. The damage was estimated at $1,500. Security footage showed two juvenile males commit the offense. Ptlm. Patrick Barry investigated.

On 1/11/2020 at 9:49 am, patrol responded to the 800 blk of Dunellen Ave for the report of Criminal Mischief. The victim reported that an unknown person had caused damage to the rear window of their parked vehicle causing it to shatter. Ptlm. Michael Lowder investigated.

On 1/11/2020 at 2:06 am, Maria Guzman, 46, of North Plainfield was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on North Washington Ave. for traveling at a high rate of speed with no lights on. Ms. Guzman was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober family member. Ptlm. Nicholas Goldman investigated.

On 1/9/2020 at 12:00 am, patrol received a walk-in report of Defiant Trespass and Disorderly Conduct for an incident on 1/7/2020. The reporting party was a representative of Eight on the Break. Based on security footage, the actor was identified as a 16 year old male, of Dunellen. Charges for Defiant Trespass and Disorderly Conduct were mailed. Ptlm. Joseph Green investigated.

On 1/8/2020 at 5:57 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of Theft. The victim, a resident of the 300 blk of Front St., reported the theft of a recently delivered package valued at $350. This case remains open. Ptlm. Patrick Barry investigated.

On 1/8/2020 at 11:59 am, Gerald Marin-Segura, 38, of Manville was arrested for Contempt of Court. Mr. Marin-Segura was found to have warrants out of Fanwood and Watchung totaling $1,100. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and released after posting bail. Sgt. John Doherty investigated.

On 1/5/2020 at 5:16 pm, patrol responded to Diane's O'Matic Wash on North Ave for the report of Theft. The victim reported the theft of a jacket and cell phone. During the investigation, the person whom had removed the items from the store did return them and the victim was reunited. It appears that the items were removed accidentally and no charges were filed. Ptlm. Patrick Barry investigated.

On 1/4/2020 at 4:15 pm, patrol responded to Planet Chicken on North Washington Ave for the report of Theft. The victim reported that an unknown person had taken a cell phone of the table. Security footage was obtained and this case remains open. Ptlm. Patrick Barry investigated.

On 1/2/2020 at 2:48 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of Identity Theft. The victim reported that an unknown person had utilized their information to open a student load in the amount of $8,680. This case remains open. Ptlm. Michael Lowder investigated.

On 1/2/2020 at 12:10 am, patrol received a walk-in report of Theft. The victim reported that on 12/30/2019 she had left her phone in an Uber and since then received contact from an unknown person offering to return the phone in exchange for a cash reward. The victim was not interested in pursuing charges. Ptlm. Matthew Rosofsky investigated.
