On 6/30/2020 at 8:11 pm, patrol responded to the 200 blk of Dunellen Ave for the report of Criminal Trespass. The victim reported that they had encountered an unknown male standing in their driveway who had taken the cover off of the victim's parked motorcycle. When confronted, the individual claimed that he had recently purchased the motorcycle from the homeowner. When the story was challenged, he quickly left and fled towards Plainfield. Ptlm. Joseph Green investigated.

On 6/30/2020 at 12:15 pm, Keith Tippett, 43, of Piscataway was arrested and charged with Shoplifting (2 cts) after patrol responded to Quick Chek on North Ave for the report of a shoplifting in progress. Mr. Tippett was found to be in possession of a duffle bag in which he had concealed several Red Bull drinks. Additionally, Mr. Tippett was identified as the same individual in the shoplifting incident on 6/29. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released with a court appearance notice. On 6/29/2020 at 9:33 am, patrol responded to Quick Chek on North Ave for the report of Shoplifting. The staff reported that an unknown person had entered the store and removed $79 worth of food and drink without paying. He fled on foot prior to police arrival. Ptlm. Kevin Condus investigated.

On 6/29/2020 at 5:54 am, patrol responded to the 100 blk of Prospect Ave for the report of Criminal Mischief. The victim reported that her vehicle had been "egged" and believed that permanent damage had occurred as a result. Ptlm. Nicholas Goldman investigated.

On 6/27/2020 at 8:35 pm, Ann Marie Craggan, 51, of Middlesex was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Refusal to Submit Breath Samples after patrol was called to the 600 blk of Bound Brook Rd. for the report of several visibly intoxicated persons leaving the bar and attempting to drive. Ms. Craggan was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing where she refused to provide breath samples. Ms. Craggan was later released to a sober friend. Sgt. Brian Robbins investigated.  

On 6/27/2020 at 8:35 pm, Stephen Donovan, 59, of Middlesex was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Refusal to Submit Breath Samples after patrol was called to the 600 blk of Bound Brook Rd. for the report of several visibly intoxicated persons leaving the bar and attempting to drive. Mr. Donovan was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing where he failed to provide sufficient breath samples. Mr. Donovan was later released to a sober friend. Ptlm. Patrick Barry investigated.

On 6/26/2020 at 5:17 am, patrol responded to the 1800 blk of West Fourth St. for the report of a Bicycle Theft. The victim reported that an unknown person(s) had removed two bicycles that were unsecured on the side of the residence. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.

On 6/25/2020 at 11:23 am, patrol responded to Quick Chek on North Ave for the report of Shoplifting. The staff reported that an unknown person had entered the store and removed a Gatorade without paying. He fled prior to police arrival. Ptlm. Kevin Condus investigated.

On 6/22/2020 at 7:23 pm, patrol responded to the 300 blk of Prospect Ave for the report of a Bicycle Theft. The victim reported that on 6/19/2020 at 3:15 am, an unknown male was captured on surveillance footage walking onto their front porch and removing their son's bicycle, valued at $100. Ptlm. On 6/21/2020 at 3:48 pm, patrol responded to the 600 blk of Walnut St. for the report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The victim reported that their vehicle had been left unlocked and that sometime during the previous few days an unknown person had accessed the car and removed several items valued at approximately $500. Ptlm. Joseph Green investigated.

On 6/21/2020 at 12:48 pm, patrol received a report of Harassment from a resident of the 300 blk of Front St. The victim claimed that a person was harassing them via Facebook. Ptlm. Kevin Condus investigated.

On 6/19/2020 at 6:06 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of Fraud. The victim reported that an unknown person had opened a Sprint account in her name and had ordered a phone. Ptlm. Joseph Green investigated.

On 6/19/2020 at 3:57 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The victim, a resident of the 400 blk of Front St. reported that an unknown person had accessed his unlocked motor vehicle and stolen loose U.S. Currency. Video footage from a nearby neighbor showed several individuals checking for unlocked cars. Ptlm. Kevin Condus investigated.

On 6/19/2020 at 3:52 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of Recovered CDS. An Uber driver had gone to pick up a fare. Upon doing so, the unknown rider stated that they no longer needed a ride, but requested that the driver continue the route to deliver a package. The driver found the package to contain Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. The items were turned over to the police. Ptlm. Brian O'Neill investigated.

On 6/19/2020 at 2:36 pm, patrol responded to the 200 blk of Whittier Ave for the report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The victim reported that an unknown person had accessed their two unlocked vehicles and rummaged through the contents, stealing items valued at $200. Ptlm. Joseph Green investigated.

On 6/19/2020 at 1:35 pm, patrol responded to the 300 blk of Prospect Ave for the report of a Scam. The victim reported that she had fallen victim to a "bail money" scam and had sent an unknown person $19,000. The victim was able to recover $9,000 prior to the delivery going through. Ptlm. On 6/19/2020 at 11:16 am, patrol responded to the 600 blk of Grove St. for the report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The victim reported that an unknown individual had accessed their two unlocked motor vehicles overnight and stolen several items valued at approximately $400. Ptlm. Kevin Condus investigated.

On 6/18/2020 at 1:47 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of Theft. The victim, a resident of the 400 blk of First St. reported that a package valued at $31.50 had been stolen from his step shortly after delivery. Ptlm. James Daniel investigated.

On 6/16/2020 at 3:35 pm, patrol responded to the 100 blk of North Ave for the report of Theft. The victim reported that two bicycles had been stolen. Ptlm. Joseph Green investigated.

On 6/16/2020 at 2:20 pm, patrol responded to the 600 blk of Bound Brook Rd. for the report of a Motor Vehicle Burglary. The victim reported that 3 juveniles on bicycles (captured on surveillance footage) had entered his unlocked vehicle during the previous night and stolen several documents and credit cards. Ptlm. Kevin Condus investigated.

On 6/14/2020 at 3:03 pm, patrol responded to Diane's O'Matic Wash on North Ave for the report of Theft. The victim reported that an unknown patron had taken his clothes out of the dryer and removed them from the premises. Ptlm. Michael Lowder investigated.

On 6/14/2020 at 5:39 am, patrol responded to the 700 blk of Center St. for the report of a Structure Fire. Officers from Dunellen, Green Brook, and Piscataway arrived to find a home fully engulfed in flames and spreading to two adjacent structures. Officers ensured that all residents had safely evacuated. Firefighters from Dunellen, Middlesex, and Piscatway responded to the fire and several residents were transported by EMS for medical treatment. Investigation was forwarded to Arson Investigator Sgt. Lovell and the Middlesex County Fire Marshall's Office. The cause is listed as undetermined at this time.

On 6/10/2020 at 5:41 pm, patrol received a report of Fraud from a resident of the 300 blk of Fairview Ave. The victim reported that they had received a "Social Security Scam" call and were concerned because the caller had spoofed the caller id to appear that they were calling from the Dunellen Police Department. The caller was advised that this was a scam and did not pay any funds to the scammer. Ptlm. Joseph Green investigated.

On 6/9/2020 at 10:05 pm, patrol responded to a residence on the 400 blk of Lincoln Ave for the report of Simple Assault. All parties involved were given information on signing criminal complaints if they so chose to do so. Ptlm. Matthew Rosofsky investigated.

On 6/5/2020 at 6:56 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of a Landlord / Tenant dispute. The reporting party, a landlord of a residence on the 100 blk of North Ave wished to report that a tenant facing eviction proceedings for nonpayment was retaliating by running the water faucets 24/7, using over 100,000 gallons of water per month and causing a water bill of almost $800. The incident was documented but remains under the purview of Landlord Tenant Court. Ptlm. Nicholas Goldman investigated.

On 6/5/2020 at 7:16 am, patrol responded to the 100 blk of First St. for the report of a Stolen Motor Vehicle. The victim reported that their 2020 Dodge Ram had been left unlocked overnight with the key in the vehicle. A short while later, some of the contents of the vehicle were recovered in Plainfield. This case remains open. Ptlm. Kevin Condus investigated.

On 6/3/2020 at 7:50 am, patrol responded to the 200 blk of Whittier Ave for the report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle owner reported that two of their vehicles had been left unlocked overnight and that an unknown person had accessed and removed several documents from each vehicle. Ptlm. Michael Lowder investigated.

On 6/3/2020 at 7:39 am, patrol responded to the 200 blk of Whittier Ave for the report of Found Property. Investigation revealed that the discarded items were actually the proceeds of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle which had occurred on the 300 blk of Whittier Ave when the vehicle was left unlocked. The recovered items were returned to their owner. Ptlm. Michael Lowder investigated.

On 6/1/2020 at 6:56 pm, patrol responded to the 400 blk of Mountainview Terrace for the report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The victim reported that an unknown person had accessed their unlocked vehicle and rummaged through the contents but did not take anything. Ptlm. Keith Irons investigated.

On 6/1/2020 at 3:05 pm, patrol responded to the 500 blk of Mountainview Terrace for the report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The victim reported that sometime during the previous night an unknown individual had accessed their unlocked vehicle and taken a wallet with contents valued at $150. Ptlm. Brian O'Neill investigated.

On 6/1/2020 at 7:48 am, patrol responded to the 400 blk of Mountainview Terrace for the report of a Stolen Motor Vehicle. The owner reported that the vehicle had been left overnight unlocked with the keys inside. Also in the vehicle were a Nintendo Switch with games, a bag of clothings, and other merchandise. Ring video footage from the 300 blk of Mountainview Terrace from overnight showed the stolen vehicle driving and pick up (4) accomplices who were canvassing the area and checking for unlocked cars. On 6/4/2020 at 6:41 am, the vehicle was located abandoned and damaged in Edison. Physical evidence was recovered and this case remains open. Det. Jonathan DeAngelo and Det. Joe Dudley investigated.
