On 6/30/2016 at 9:30 am, Richard Schiebe, 35, of Middlesex was arrested for Contempt of Court after patrol was called to Kline Pl for the report of an individual sleeping in a vehicle. Investigation revealed that Mr. Schiebe had an outstanding warrant from Middlesex County.  Mr. Schiebe was transported to police headquarters for processing and later turned over to the Middlesex County Sheriff's Office. Ptlm. Lovell investigated.

On 6/30/2016 at 8:21 am, patrol responded to the 600 blk of Bound Brook Rd for the report of a bicycle theft. Investigation revealed that sometime over the previous week an unknown person had removed a blue mountain bike which was unsecured in the rear of the residence. Information was taken for a report. Ptlm. Robbins investigated.

On 6/28/2016 at 11:28 pm, Heiner Rivera-Ramirez, 33, of Dunellen was arrested for Contempt of Court after patrol responded to a verbal dispute. Investigation revealed that Mr. Rivera-Ramirez had an active arrest warrant from Middlesex Boro.  He was transported to headquarters where he was processed and posted bail.  Ptlm. Nierodzik investigated.

On 6/27/2016 at 4:04 am, patrol officers responded to a Quick Chek for an attempted robbery.  An unknown male wearing a brown jacket and black hat over his face had entered the business and demanded the proceeds from the register.  As police were being called the individual fled the scene on foot. No weapons were shown, no proceeds were taken, and he fled prior to police arrival.  Anyone with further information is directed to contact the Dunellen detective bureau.

On 6/25/2016 at 12:55 am, Charles Gray, 34, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop in which Mr. Gray was the passenger. Investigation revealed that Mr. Gray had an outstanding warrant from Watchung.  He was transported to headquarters where he was processed and posted bail. Ptlm. Pepe investigated.

On 6/14/2016 at 10:47 pm, patrol officers responded to a North Ave residence for the report of harassment. Patrol found that the unwanted party had already left the residence prior to the arrival of police, and the caller did not wish to sign any criminal complaints. Sgt. Doherty investigated.

On 6/14/2016 at 9:31 pm, Donna Jones, 49, of Dunellen was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle crash on Madison Ave. Patrol responded to a single car motor vehicle accident and found the operator, Ms. Jones, to be exhibiting signs of impairment. Field sobriety tests were administered and Ms. Jones was placed under arrest. Ms. Jones was transported to the hospital for further testing.  Mrs. Jones was released to the custody of hospital staff.  Ptlm. Marcin Nierodzik investigated.

On 6/14/2016 at 12:44 am, Arlyn Ocasio-Cruz, 41, of Plainfield was arrested for Contempt of Court after patrol was called to a North Ave residence for a disorderly person. Investigation revealed several outstanding warrants from other towns for Ms. Ocasio-Cruz. She was brought to headquarters where she was processed and later released with new court dates.  Ptlm. Marcin Nierodzik investigated.

On 6/13/2016 at 1:31am Charles Washington III, 25, of Piscataway, was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension and also arrested for contempt of court. Patrolman Pepe was on routine patrol when he observed a vehicle use a parking lot to avoid a red traffic signal. He conducted a motor vehicle stop and investigation revealed that the passenger, Mr. Washington III, provided a false name and date of birth to the officer to avoid being arrested for multiple outstanding warrants.  It was found that he had three outstanding warrants for his arrest out of South Plainfield and Piscataway.  Mr. Washington III was processed and later turned over to South Plainfield Police Department.  Ptlm. On 6/12/2016 at 12:42am John Aviles  29, of Hoboken, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct following of an intoxicated male attempted to get in his vehicle at a First Street residence.  When patrol arrived, they found Mr. Aviles screaming and being held down by bystanders. Mr. Aviles was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.  He was processed, and later released on his own recognizance. Shortly thereafter, at 2:04 am, patrol received another call to the same First Street residence that Mr. Aviles was again intoxicated and attempting to leave.  Mr. Aviles was uncooperative with officers and after a brief struggle and was placed under arrest for a second time and charged with another count of disorderly conduct. He was subsequently released on his own recognizance and transported to Robert Wood Johnson – Somerset for treatment. Ptlm. Nicholas Pepe investigated

On 6/9/2016 at 8:49 am, Mark Anthony, 47, of Piscataway was arrested for shoplifting. Ptlm. Holovacko and Ptlm. DeAngelo responded to the area of a North Avenue business after an employee called in a complaint of shoplifting. Investigation revealed that Mr. Anthony was in possession of $18.06 worth of stolen energy drinks. Mr. Anthony was transported to headquarters where he was processed and later released with a court date. The stolen items were returned to their rightful owner. Ptlm. DeAngelo investigated.

On 6/8/2016 at 7:53 pm, patrol responded to a 911 call for an unresponsive male at a Lincoln Ave residence. Officers arrived to find an unconscious 50 year old resident of Dunellen surrounded by evidence of heroin use. Ptlm. Chris Lovell and Sgt.John Doherty administered 2 doses of Narcan Naloxone which reverses the effect of opiates. After the second dose the victim regained consciousness. Care was transferred to the Dunellen Rescue Squad. Empty folds of heroin along with other paraphernalia were recovered from the scene. 

On 6/7/2016 at 11:13 pm, Rahaman Ruff, 23 of Piscataway was arrested for possession of marijuana and intent to distribute marijuana after a motor vehicle stop for speeding on South Washington Ave. Investigation during the traffic stop revealed that Mr. Ruff was in possession of several small bags of marijuana which had been packaged for distribution. Mr. Ruff was transported to police heaquarters where he was processed and later released with a court date. Ptlm. Pepe investigated.

On 6/7/2016 at 5:42 pm, patrol responded to a Second St. residence for the reported theft of a political sign. Investigation revealed that an unknown actor(s) removed the political sign which was on the front lawn of the residence. There was no description of a possible suspect. Ptlm. Robbins investigated.

On 6/6/2016 at 12:31 am, Nicholas Pruden, 22, of Middlesex was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on South Ave. The stop was conducted after patrol observed his car traveling at a high rate of speed, crossing over the double yellow line on Bound Brook Road and committing several other traffic violations.  Standardized field sobriety tests were conducted and Mr. Pruden was placed under arrest. He was additionally charged with refusal to submit to breath testing. Mr. Pruden was then released to a sober party. Sgt. Jeff Delbuono investigated.

On 6/6/2016 at 11:00 am, Leron Brown, 42, of Piscataway was arrested for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The stop was conducted after a random plate read showed Mr. Brown's vehicle to have an expired registration. Additionally Mr. Brown was found to have a suspended driver's license.  Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle and subsequent search resulted in officers locating a clear plastic bag containing suspected marijuana as well as paraphernalia.  Mr. Brown was released on his own recognizance.  Ptlm. Nicholas Goldman investigated.

On 6/4/2016 at 10:59 pm, Benafia Quartey, 32, of Dayton was arrested for contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop. The vehicle was stopped after a random plate check revealed that the registered owner had a suspended driver's license as well as an active warrant for her arrest. Ms. Quartey was later turned over to Middlesex Borough Police in lieu of her $750.00 warrant. Ptlm. Nicholas Goldman investigated.

On 6/3/2016 at 10:29 pm, Vinicio Santamaria-Chango, 20, of Plainfield was arrested for driving while intoxicated after patrol was called to the scene of a single car motor vehicle accident on the 600 block of Dunellen Avenue. Mr. Santamaria-Chango had struck a parked vehicle and a tree. Further investigation revealed signs of intoxication. Mr. Santamaria-Chango was transported to the hospital for further testing. He was released on his own recognizance to the hospital staff. Ptlm. Nicholas Goldman investigated.

On 6/3/2016 at 2:15 am Asim Boston-Jordan, 31, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to breath testing. Ptlm. Pepe was on routine patrol when he observed a blue Dodge cross over the double yellow line on Walnut Street. Ptlm. Pepe conducted a motor vehicle stop and believed Mr. Boston-Jordan to be under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested following field sobriety tests and later refused to submit breath samples. Ptlm. Nicholas Pepe investigated

On 6/2/2016 at 12:56 am Thomas Oleary, 32, of Kingston, PA was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and David Sgarlat age 29 of Forty Fort, PA was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sgt. Delbuono was on routine patrol when he observed a black Hyundai Sonata nearly strike a construction cone. Sgt. Delbuono conducted a traffic stop and believed Mr. Oleary to be intoxicated. He was placed under arrest following field sobriety tests. Upon further investigation it was determined that Mr. Sgarlat was in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana as well as several glass pipes. Both individuals were processed and later released on their own recognizance. Sgt. Jeff Delbuono investigated.
