February 2012 On 02/23/12 @ 11:34 PM - A 23 year old resident of Plainfield was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on the 200 block of Front Street. Suspect was also found to be driving with a suspended license and several warrants out for her arrest. Officer Chris Lovell investigated. On 02/23/12 @ 6:23 PM - A resident of 700 block of Front Street reported an identity theft. The victim reported that someone had filed taxes in their name. Officer Chris Lovell investigated. On 02/23/12 @ 4:50 PM - Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Bound Brook Road for a dispute over a stolen bicycle. A resident of Middlesex reported that he believed a 19 year old resident of North Plainfield stole his bicycle and he located the suspect in Dunellen, resulting in an altercation. Victim was advised of the civilian complaint procedure with both Middlesex and Dunellen Municipal Courts. Officer Jon DeAngelo investigated. On 02/23/12 @ 1:23 PM - A 35 year old resident of New Brunswick was arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension following a minor motor vehicle accident next to Police Headquarters where the suspect struck a police vehicle with his vehicle. Upon investigation of the driver's identity, he gave police several false names and was found to have a suspended and expired license. He was charged with hindering apprehension and transported to Middlesex County Correctional Center. Officer Chris Lovell investigated. On 02/22/12 @ 11:15 PM- A 26 year old resident of South Bound Brook was arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension following a motor vehicle stop on North Ave. Subject gave police officers a false name and was found to have a suspended license and a warrant out for his arrest. On 02/22/12 @ 1:44 PM- A 26 year old resident of South Plainfield was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on West Front Street. Subject was also found to be driving on an expired and suspended license. Lt. Dan Smith investigated. On 02/21/12 @ 12:30 AM- A 52 year old resident of Dunellen was arrested and charged with DWI, disorderly conduct and assault on a Police Officer after a motor vehicle stop on the 500 block of Second Street. Suspect was arrested for DWI and assaulted an officer while in custody. Officer Matt Cangialosi investigated.
On 02/19/12 @ 2:17 AM- A 36 year old resident of Plainfield was arrested and charged with DWI after being found asleep at the wheel on North Washington Avenue. The driver was also found to have an open container of an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle. Sgt. Jeff Delbuono investigated. On 02/18/12 @ 01:10 AM - Two males were arrested and charged with aggravated assault after Police responded to a fight in the area of North Washington Ave and Front Street. The victims, 40 year old and 50 year old residents of Dunellen, were transported to the hospital for treatment. A 28 year old resident of South Plainfield was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, resisting by flight, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. A 24 year old resident of Piscataway was charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Both subjects were processed and released after posting bail. On 02/17/12 @ 8:30 AM - The owner of a North Ave business reported a burglary, theft and criminal mischief to the business. It was discovered that the suspect kicked open the side door and stole $1,000 in items from the business. Officer Jon DeAngelo investigated. On 02/15/12 @ 10:48 AM - A resident of North Ave. Ext. reported identity theft. The victim reported that someone had filed taxes in their name. Sgt. Prescott Chin investigated. On 02/14/12 @ 4:46 PM - A resident of Third Street reported suspicious persons. The resident reported that on several occasions her children were possibly being followed while walking home from school by persons in an older model black SUV. The vehicle was also described as being "lifted". Only the passenger could be described as a white male, approximately 40 years old, dark curly hair and wearing dark glasses. Officer Joe Dudley investigated. On 02/13/12 @ 10:54 PM - A New Jersey Transit worker reported a found firearm on the east bound side of the train tracks. Police recovered a pellet gun wrapped in clothing that had the appearance of a handgun. Sgt. John Doherty investigated. On 02/12/12 @ 7:54 PM - A 23 year old resident of Piscataway was arrested and charged with two counts of Burglary, Theft, Criminal Mischief and Simple Assault after an investigation on the 100 block of Front Street. Sgt. Prescott Chin investigated. On 02/12/12 @ 11:51 PM - A passerby reported criminal mischief to the rear of a North Washington Ave business. Police responded and found that the business was broken into through the rear. It was discovered that the suspect stole cash and merchandise from the store. Officer James Daniel investigated. On 02/12/12 @ 10:29 PM- A 32 year old resident of Dunellen was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on North Ave after the vehicle was observed to be traveling 49 MPH in a 30 MPH zone. Officer Matt Cangialosi investigated.
On 02/06/12 @ 12:50 PM - A resident of Gertrude Terrace reported a theft from the back yard of their residence. The resident reported that $1140 worth of various items were stolen from the back yard between 1/14/12 and 2/06/12. The items were in the yard due to a flooded basement. Sgt. Prescott Chin investigated. On 02/06/12 @ 1:01 AM- A 55 year old resident of Piscataway was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on Washington Avenue. Officer Brian Robbins investigated.
On 02/06/12 @ 12:35 AM - A 27 year old resident of Plainfield was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on North Ave. Subject was also found to be driving with a suspended license, suspended registration, and no vehicle insurance. Sgt. John Doherty investigated. On 02/06/12 @ 12:23 AM- A 22 year old resident of Piscataway was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Road. Officer Brian O'Neill investigated. On 02/05/12 @ 11:37 PM - A 30 year old resident of Hillside was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on Washington Avenue where the vehicle was observed to be traveling 70 mph in a 25 mph zone. The driver was also found to have an open container of an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle. Sgt. Jeff Delbuono investigated. On 02/05/12 @ 12:29 AM - A 44 year old resident of Plainfield was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. Officer Brian Robbins investigated. On 02/04/12 @ 3:52 AM - A 48 year old resident of Plainfield was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, hindering apprehension and contempt of court after a motor vehicle stop on the 300 block of Front Street. The driver gave police a false name while on the motor vehicle stop and was found to have a suspended license and multiple warrants out for her arrest. The passenger, a 63 year old resident of Dunellen, was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension and contempt of court after he lied about his name to police and multiple warrants were found to be out for his arrest. Officer Brian O'Neill investigated. On 02/03/12 @ 11:46 PM- A 57 year old resident of Somerville was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on the 500 block of Third Street. Officer Brian O'Neill investigated.
On 02/02/12 @ 2:07 PM - A 911 call from a South Washington Ave business reported a 56 year old employee who suffered burns to his face,head and neck due to a flame flash from a heating unit. Somerset Medical Center BLS and Mercy 7 Paramedics responded and requested the assistance of North Star for Transport. The victim was transported via North Star, which landed at Columbia Park, to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ, for treatment. Officer James Daniel investigated. On 02/01/12 @ 7:34 AM - A Dunellen Crossing Guard was struck by a motor vehicle on North Ave at the intersection of Madison Ave. The Crossing Guard was struck while in the crosswalk and crossing children. The driver, a 46 year old resident of Middlesex, was making a left turn onto North Ave when the accident occurred. The driver was cited for motor vehicle offenses. The Crossing Guard was transported to the hospital. Officer Phil Romano investigated. January 2012 On 01/30/12 @ 7:01 PM - A resident of the 100 block of Prospect Ave. reported a burglary and theft from her apartment. The victim stated that a camera was missing from her bedroom where there is an unsecured window in the room. The camera was valued at $1,300. Office Brian O'Neill investigated. On 01/30/12 @ 2:52 PM - A resident of the 700 block of Bound Brook Road reported a Burglary and Criminal Mischief to her home. The resident reported returning home to find her front door ajar. Officers responded and found the home was clear however the front door had been forced open. Nothing was reported to be missing from the residence at this time. Sgt. Chris Beenders investigated. On 01/29/12 @ 1:25 AM - A 30 year old resident of Dunellen was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest on the 100 block of North Washington Ave. Officer James Daniel investigated. On 01/24/12 @ 3:08 PM- A 26 year old resident of Manville was arrested and charged with Burglary, Criminal Mischief, and Possession of Burglar's Tools after the owner of a North Ave business reported he observed the suspect inside his secure lot. The owner called 911and was able to detain the suspect as he tried to flee the scene. The Police arrived and the investigation revealed the suspect used wire cutters to gain access through the fence into the secured lot. The suspect was arrested, processed and was able to post bail. On 01/21/12 @ 2:27 AM- A 44 year old resident of North Brunswick was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of South Washington Ave and Orange Street. Officer Brian Robbins investigated. On 01/20/12 @ 2:29 PM- A 25 year old resident of Plainfield was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of New Market Road and South Washington Ave. Sgt. Chris Beenders investigated. On 01/18/12 @ 2:00 PM - A resident of Basking Ridge reported being assaulted on the 300 block of Whittier Ave. The victim reported that he observed a male taking pictures of his mother's home on Whittier Ave. When the victim confronted the suspect an argument escalated and the suspect punched the victim in the face. The victim was able to obtain the suspect's license plate number as he left the scene. He was later identified by a police investigation and the victim was advised of the civilian complaint procedure. On 01/17/12 @ 3:20 PM- A resident of the 100 block of Pulaski Street reported a theft from the front of their residence. The victim reported that a package with an Android cell phone valued at $300 was delivered by mail but missing from the front of their residence. Officer Joe Dudley investigated. On 01/17/12 @ 3:20 PM- A resident of the 400 block of High Street reported a theft from their vehicle. The vehicle was parked in the victim's driveway unlocked and an IPod valued at $400 was taken from the vehicle. Officer Chris Lovell investigated. On 01/17/12 @ 6:00 PM - A 33 year old resident of Clark was arrested at Police Headquarters and charged with attempting to obtain a prescription legend drug by fraud from a borough pharmacy. Officer Jon DeAngelo investigated. On 01/14/12 @ 7:45 AM- A 20 year old resident of Basking Ridge was arrested for Contempt of Court following an investigation on the 100 block of Dunellen Ave. Officer Matthew Cangialosi investigated. On 01/13/12 @ 10:26 PM- A 32 year old resident of Edison was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of North Ave. and Washington Ave. Officer James Daniel investigated. On 01/12/12 @ 10:05 PM- A 59 year old resident of Milltown was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. Subject was also charged with refusing to submit to breath testing. Officer Chris Lovell investigated. On 01/11/12 @ 2:25 AM- A 23 year old resident of New York was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. Officer Matthew Cangialosi investigated. On 01/08/12 @ 8:25 PM- A resident of the 500 block of Walnut Street reported a theft from their vehicle. The vehicle was parked in the street unlocked and an IPod valued at $500 was taken from the vehicle. Officer Brian O'Neill investigated. On 01/08/12 @ 2:26 AM- A 56 year old resident of Piscataway was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on Washington Avenue. Officer Brian Robbins investigated. On 01/07/12 @ 2:10 PM- A resident of Kline Place reported a theft from their vehicle. The vehicle was left in the victim's driveway unlocked and loose change was missing. Sgt. Chris Beenders investigated. On 01/05/12 @ 6:15pm - The owner of a North Avenue business reported that five scrap car batteries were missing from his secure lot. The batteries were valued at $50 a piece. The owner stated that he reported a hole was cut into the lot's fence in December of 2011, which was likely how the suspect entered the lot. Sgt. On 01/03/12 @ 11:27 PM- A 27 year old resident of Maplewood was arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension following a motor vehicle stop on Washington Ave. Subject gave police officers a false name and was found to have a suspended license and a warrant out for his arrest. On 01/02/12 @ 11:11 PM- A 29 year old resident of Dunellen was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on the 300 Block of North Ave. Officer Chris Lovell investigated.
