On 5/29/2026 at 5:08 pm, Robert Montesano Jr., 34, of Kenilworth was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Refusal to Submit Fingerprints, and Criminal Mischief after patrol was called to Il Forno A Legna II on North Ave for the report of a male causing a disturbance. On 5/29/2026 at 3:59 am, three juvenile males, 15, of Dunellen, 14, of Plainfield, and 15, of North Plainfield were apprehended and charged with Eluding and Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle after a pursuit in which they were operating a stolen vehicle. On 5/29/2026 at 1:08 am, Rigo Callejas-Quintero, 38, of South Plainfield was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Ave. He was brought to Dunellen HQ for processing and later released to a sober family member. On 5/27/2026 at 11:00 am, patrol responded to The Nell on South Washington Ave for the report of a Stolen Motor Vehicle. The victim reported the theft of his Honda S2000. Several days later the vehicle was recovered having been stripped and burned, discarded in Woodbridge. Ptlm. Ahmon Hardy investigated.

On 5/24/2026 at 12:09 am Darwin Morales-Mendez, 20, of Dunellen was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Refusal to Submit Breath Samples after patrol responded to the report of a single truck vs. telephone pole motor vehicle crash on the 300 blk of Lincoln Ave. Mr. Morales-Mendez was arrested and transported to Dunellen HQ for processing where he refused to provide breath samples. On 5/22/2026 at 6:04 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of Fraud. The victim, a Dunellen resident, reported being the victim of a cryptocurrency scam and over the past few months, they had sent approximately $31,000 to an unknown person through multiple transactions. Ptlm. Andrew Mortensen investigated.
On 5/22/2026, Raymond Burden, 40, of Piscataway was charged with Theft after patrol responded to Zupko's Tavern on North Ave. Staff reported that Mr. Burden walked out on an unpaid tab of $100.72. earlier in the day. Mr. Burden was mailed a court appearance notice.
On 5/22/2026 at 1:53 pm, Sgt. Robbins, Ptlm. Lowder, Ptlm. Mortensen, and Ptlm. Hardy responded to the 700 blk of Bound Brook Rd. for the report of an unresponsive male. The officers began CPR and administered several doses of Narcan. Upon arrival of BLS, a pulse was regained and the individual was transported to the hospital for further medical treatment. Ptlm. On 5/22/2026 at 12:25 pm, patrol responded to the 100 blk of Front St. for the reported Simple Assault. The victim, a female resident of Plainfield, reported that an acquaintance assaulted her and fled before police arrived. On 5/19/2026 at 4:24 pm, Edward Roach Sr., 33, of Plainfield was arrested for Contempt of Court following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Rd. in which he was found to have a no-bail warrant for his arrest out of Woodbridge, as well as a warrant out of South Plainfield in the amount of $1,500. On 5/18/2026 at 2:09 pm, Carriem Johnson, 32, of Plainfield was arrested and charged with Defiant Trespass and Hindering Apprehension after patrol was called to Roscoe's Eatery on North Ave. Mr. Johnson had returned to the establishment despite an earlier trespass warning and provided officers with a fictitious identity. On 5/18/2026 at 1:45 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of Harassment. The victim(s), residents of the 200 blk of North Ave, wished to report several actions of a neighbor viewed as Harassment. On 5/16/2026 at 10:41 am, Edwin Renjifofreire, 33, of Dunellen was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated after patrol was called to a hit and run accident on the 400 blk of Jackson Ave involving a parked vehicle. Mr. Renjifofreire's disabled vehicle was subsequently located on Third St. and following investigation he was arrested for DWI. On 5/15/2026 at 1:28 pm, patrol responded to the 100 blk of First St. for the report of Theft. The victim reported that unknown persons had stolen the catalytic converter from their parked vehicle during the overnight hours. Ptlm. Erik Ortiz investigated.

On 5/15/2026 at 12:34 am, patrol responded to an apparent Drug Overdose on the 600 blk of North Ave Extension. Patrol found the victim, a 66 year old female, unresponsive and administered Narcan. On 5/12/2026 at 4:50 pm, Jada Reeves, 27, of East Rutherford was charged with Aggravated Assault following a walk-in report at HQ. The victim was reporting the same fight earlier at Family Dollar and following review of the security footage, charges were filed and a court appearance notice mailed to Ms. Reeves. Ptlm. On 5/12/2026 at 12:41 pm, patrol received a walk-in report of Simple Assault. The victim, an East Rutherford resident, reported being assaulted by an acquaintance in the Family Dollar parking lot. On 5/4/2026 at 5:53 pm, Sgt. Brian Robbins, DSgt. Nicholas Goldman, Det. Anthony Issler, and Ptlm. Andrew Mortensen responded to a residence on New Market Ave for the reported unresponsive male. The victim, a 58 year old male, became unresponsive while performing yard work. Responders administered several rounds of CPR and multiple shocks from the AED. The victim eventually began breathing on his own and regained consciousness prior to transportation to the hospital. Ptlm. Andrew Mortensen investigated.
